I picked this little beauty up for $1 at a yard sale. They had tried painting her but they were not very successful. I completely repainted her and I love how she turned out!
I needed something to try a new crackle finish and decided that this candle holder would work just fine. I'm a bit infatuated with the crackle finishes I'm seeing in stores. The old finish didn't fit in the new house so it wouldn't be any loss if it didn't work out. I base coated it in white, put the crackle medium over that then stained it with a light tan. It ended up being a lot more terra cotta than I expected but I like it. It was my first time using a one step crackle and it works great if you are wanting to crackle over a print, decorative paper, etc.
Oh yes - she looks so much better -well done!!
